How do I cancel my Mindtape Pro subscription?

Subscriptions are managed entirely through Apple. To cancel:

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone
  2. Tap your name at the top → Subscriptions
  3. Select MindtapeCancel Subscription

Your Pro access continues until the end of the current billing period. You will not be charged again. If you cancel during a free trial more than 24 hours before it ends, you will not be charged at all.

How do I delete my account and all my data?

Open the Mindtape app, go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. Your voice recordings, transcripts, AI insights, and account data will be permanently deleted from our servers within 30 days (some encrypted backups may persist for up to 90 days for disaster recovery).

If you cannot access the app, email [email protected] with your registered email and we'll process the deletion manually.

Note: Cancelling your subscription is separate from deleting your account. If you only want to stop the subscription, see the question above.

Why isn't my voice transcribing?

If a recording is stuck or you see an error, try this in order:

  1. Check microphone permission: iOS Settings → Mindtape → Microphone must be enabled.
  2. Check internet connection: Transcription happens on our servers and needs Wi-Fi or cellular data.
  3. Wait a moment: Long recordings can take up to a minute to process during high-load periods.
  4. Tap Retry: If the entry shows a failure indicator, tap it once and the transcription will be re-queued.

If the same recording keeps failing, send us its date and time at [email protected] — we can check our logs and help directly.

I subscribed but Pro features aren't unlocked. What now?

This usually resolves with a Restore Purchases:

  1. Open Mindtape → Settings → Subscription → Restore Purchases
  2. If still locked, fully close the app (swipe up from the app switcher) and reopen it
  3. If the subscription was purchased on a different Apple ID than the one currently signed into the App Store, sign in with the correct Apple ID

Apple's billing webhook usually reaches us within seconds, but in rare cases it can take a few minutes. If Pro is still locked after 10 minutes, write to [email protected] with your Apple ID email and approximate purchase time.

How do I switch devices or restore my entries on a new iPhone?

Your entries live on our encrypted servers, not on the device. To restore on a new iPhone:

  1. Install Mindtape from the App Store on the new device
  2. Sign in with the same Apple ID you used originally (Sign in with Apple)
  3. Your entries, transcripts, and insights load automatically — no manual export or import needed

Your subscription also follows your Apple ID, so Pro access transfers automatically. If you don't see your entries on the new device, double-check that you signed in with the same Apple ID.
